Ginger (minced)

Red pepper flakes

Directions

Prepare the Barbeque Sauce:Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add canola oil and sauté garlic, ginger, and green onion until fragrant and tender. Stir in red pepper flakes. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining sauce ingredients (not specified in the original recipe) and add to the saucepan. Bring to a low simmer and cook for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Set aside.

Crispy Grilled Salmon with Homemade Chinese BBQ Sauce & Baby Spinach

Preheat and Prep the Grill:Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Salmon:Season salmon steaks with salt and pepper. Place on the grill and cook for 4–5 minutes without flipping (this helps develop a crispy crust). Flip the fish, brush with the prepared barbecue sauce, and continue cooking for another 4–5 minutes until the salmon is opaque throughout (a fork should flake it easily).

Serve:Divide baby spinach among 4 plates. Place the hot salmon steaks on top of the spinach—their heat will gently wilt the greens. Serve immediately, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
